About Sparwood
The District Municipality of Sparwood was incorporated May 12, 1966, with the relocation of residents from the communities of Michel, Natal and Middletown (Urban Renewal). Since then, Sparwood has experienced steady growth with some ups and downs related to the primary industry, coal mining.
