The Sparwood Department of Leisure and Community Services provides public recreation and arts facilities and programs for use by residents and visitors to Sparwood.

Our Mission Statement is: "To foster a sense of community and better, more physically active citizens." The Department of Leisure and Community Services helps people to become more physically active and encourages learning and personal growth.

Active Transportation In Sparwood - We are well into the second year of the Active Communities initiative to become 20% more active by 2010. Sparwood has won a provincial award for its work on this project. View the Progress Report following the November 27, 2008 Active Transportation Presentation here.
